UV Sterilizer Design
UV equipment design rests on a compromise between cost and performance. Regarding the number of lamps inside a UV housing, the best number of lamps is the one that utilizes the UV-C Output to its maximum potential without compromising the lamp field efficiency. The length of the UV housing is determined by the length of the lamp(s), ensuring that the lamp array falls inside of the housing’s “Plug Flow Region”. The UV Lamp’s power supply dictates whether the lamp is operating at peak efficiency. Input Watts are key. Too high and the lamp is over-driven, potentially damaging it or lowering its expected useful life. Too low and the expected UV-C Output Watts are diminished.

Both equipment diagrams demonstrate proper lamp placement inside the UV housing (the lamp array is within the “plug flow region”). This explains why EA UV equipment may be larger in size than competing UV brands. EA will not compromise performance for a smaller footprint.

Initially, the “Space Saving” benefit of a small foot-print appeals to many unsuspecting customers, until they learn that valuable UV performance has been sacrificed. EA’s UV housings and Power Supply Enclosure designs are substantiated.

And then there are our competitors who are either ignorant to, or simply ignore, the Established Engineering Guidelines which EA follows. Why? Because they have a different agenda: to promote “Compact”…to attract the space conscious customer. Perfect examples of these companies are Aqua Ultraviolet promoting their Viper Series UV equipment and Aqualogic with their Compact Mega Watt UV Sterilizer. Essentially, both of these companies have sacrificed performance for a smaller foot print. The Established Engineering Guidelines do not support this approach.

EA provides you with sound design, the highest quality components and assembly.

EA Power supplies provide precise Input Wattage to the lamps, ensuring optimum operating and useful life performance.
